Joyce Sleigh Lindsey, age 79 of Smyrna, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Stonecrest Medical Center. She was a native of Clarksville and a daughter of the late Simon C. and Sarah Thomas Sleigh. She was also preceded in death by a son Danny Lindsey, three sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband of 59 years LaVerne Lindsey; children Terrie Williams and her husband Larry of Murfreesboro, Mark Lindsey and his wife Tana of Memphis, Lori Allen of Murfreesboro; grandchildren Sarah Williams of Nashville, Mike Lindsey and Jenna Fisher both of Memphis, Zachary Lindsey, of Murfreesboro, Meghan Lindsey, Bradley Allen and Justin Allen all of Smyrna; four great grandchildren Hannah, Lindsey, Riley, and Chloe; a brother Maurice Sleigh of Clarksville and a host of other loving family and friends who knew her simply as "Omah". Mrs. Lindsey was a 1954 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Clarksville and had recently retired from Target in Smyrna. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 3:00pm until the time of funeral services beginning at 5:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. The family will again receive friends Monday from 11:00 am until the time of graveside services beginning at 12:00noon at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Clarksville.
