Joshua Bruce Newsom of Erlanger, KY, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 40 on August 27, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY surrounded by his wife and her family.

Josh was a Smyrna Tennessee native who moved to Northern Kentucky 4 years ago. He will be remembered for being a great dad, wonderful husband, and a friend to many. Josh enjoyed spending time with his family outdoors, where they would enjoy camping and gaming with his kids. Josh was known for his great smile, his contagious laugh, his wonderful sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone at any time. He was a graduate of Smyrna High School in 1999.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lutricia Gail Newsom, stepfather Ronnie Johnson, and grandparents, Lois and Ewing Newsom. Survived by his wife, Amy Newsom, son, Joshua Tucker Newsom, daughter, Chloe Reese Newsom, uncle and aunt Buster and Brenda Newsom and first wife and mother of his children Angela Haney Ritter. Josh also leaves behind his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kathy and Randy Blankenship along with a large extended family and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Josh at Woodfin Funeral Home in Smyrna, TN Friday September 3, 2021, in the visitation room from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
