JOSEPHINE JO NEELY MIMS, age 85, of Murfreesboro, died July 24, 2012. Mrs. Mims was a native of Rutherford County, and daughter of the late Sam and Lona Alice Irvin Neely. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Woodfin Funeral Chapel with Lynn Watson and Doug Hutchins officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Christiana. Mrs. Mims is survived by a sister, Frances Neely Cherry of Arlington, TX, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mims and siblings, Mai Neely Sain, Murphy Irvin Neely, William Curtis Neely, Ruth Neely Perry, Charlie Wood Neely, Sam Neely, Jr., Alice Neely Cherry, and Daisy Neely Ross. Mrs. Mims was a member of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ and was a retired employee of Bell South. Nephews wil serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Middle Tennessee Christian School. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
