Joseph "Joe" Randolph Taylor, age 89 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Wednesday March 12, 2014. A native of Gibson County, TN, he was the son of the late Winfield and Mary Penn Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Graves Taylor and a son, Randy Taylor, and by a brother, Phillip Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by a son, Tommy Taylor of White House, TN; daughter Beth Dodd of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Neill and her husband Mark of Unionville, TN and Bridgett Taylor of White House, TN; great-grandchildren; Grace and Emma Neill, and Tage Taylor; brother, Edward Taylor of Morristown, TN; daughter-in-law; Liz Smith Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Eugene Cotey officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends from First Baptist Church serving as pallbearers. Mr. Taylor was a US Navy veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, and retired from the Farmers Co-Op in LaVergne, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 893-5151.
