JOSEPH CARL PENNINGTON, SR., age 69, of Murfreesboro, Tn. died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at home. He was born in Whitesburg, Ky. and was the son of the late Joseph Patrick & Sabrina Pennington. He is survived by his wife, Joan Gilbert Pennington; daughter, Lisa Davis and her husband, James of Murfreesboro; son, Joseph Pennington, Jr. and his wife, Tonya of Murfreesboro; brother, Doug Pennington and his wife, Wylene of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Lona Begley and her husband, Ralph of Whitesburg, Ky.; grandchildren, Breyanna Pennington, Victoria Davis, Alexis Davis and Dalton Davis. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dan Mallette officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be 5-8 pm Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Pennington was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Liberty, Tennessee and was a retired employee of Bridgestone.
