Obituary

Joseph Francis Murray, III, age 75 of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday. He was a native of Houston, Texas and a son of the late Joseph F. Murray, Jr and Helen Palmer Murray.

Survivors include a brother, Richard P. Murray and his wife Gloria of Kernersville, NC; a nephew, Michael W. Murray of Greensboro, NC; and nieces, Leigh K. Murray of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Leslie E. Murray of Greensboro, NC.

Joe was a 1958 graduate of Central High School and within a few years he joined the Army and served two years in Germany.  His natural abilities and interest developed into all things electrical, radio and computer. Joe had earned his FCC Master Radio License by the time he was 15 years old. At various times he worked for the US Army signal corps, WMTS Radio Murfreesboro, JFM radio tower climbing service, ISI Corp Gainesville, FL, Professional Computer Systems, Denver, CO, WBRY Radio Woodbury, WHPL Radio Shelbyville, and legal Computer Systems in Nashville. In later years, in one of his most loving gestures, he helped his mother care his father in his declining years. He had an abiding love for his houseboat which he lived on at a local marina.
