Milton White, Jr.
June 10, 1931 – August 17, 2025
Joseph "Joe" Milton White, age 94, passed away in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on June 10, 1931, in Nashville, Tennessee, Joe was only son of the late Joseph Milton White Sr. and Madeline Corlew White of Nashville. In addition to his parents, he was succeeded in death by this wife of 60 years, Mary Elizebeth Fussell White. Joe was the last surviving member of the Bellevue High School Class of 1949. He was a proud graduate of Tennessee Tech and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Throughout his career, Joe held leadership positions with Genesco Inc. and IGI Adhesives, which took his family to several towns including Iuka, Mississippi; Cowan, McMinnville; and Nashville, Tennessee. During these years, Joe and Mary made many lifelong friends before settling in Murfreesboro to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Joe was a devoted husband and father.
He enjoyed a long and fulfilling retirement fishing on Kentucky Lake and Percy Priest, playing golf, attending MTSU games, and sharing laughs at his beloved Walking Eagles and Bullsitters coffee clubs. He also loved working puzzles, watching sports, and simply enjoying time with family and friends—always with a great sense of humor.
Joe always included "We are most richly blessed." in his family prayer. He attended First United Methodist Church
He is survived by his daughter, Teri White Nicholson, and his son, Tim White (Mary), both of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren: Adam Nicholson, Casey Nicholson Miley (Jonathan), Lane White Booten (Adam), and Joe Will White (Karla); and six great-grandchildren: John and Boone Miley, Wells and Eleanor Booten, and Sofia and Will White.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Joe's family at Woodfin Memorial Chapels on Friday, August 22, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville on a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Joe's honor to the Charity Circle of Murfreesboro PO Box 11128 Murfreesboro, Tn. 37129. An online guestbook is available for the White family at www.woodfinchapel.com.
