JOSEPH DORRIS McCLANAHAN, JR, age 76 of Smyrna died Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He was a native of Davidson County and the son of the late Joseph Dorris and Julia Marie McClanahan, Sr. He is also preceded in death by a son, Joey McClanahan, and two daughters, Ginger Ferrell and Tammye Tidwell. He is survived by his wife, Reba Blackwell McClanahan, son, Monty (Patti) McClanahan, stepdaughters, Dianne (Chris) McVetty, Janice (Bill) Slagle, stepson, Clark Blackwell, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. Mr. McClanahan was retired from the railroad. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in his memory. A private family service will be held at a later date.
