Joseph D. "J.D." Crafton, age 81, of LaVergne, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2016. A native of Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Hal and Meta Alley; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Sylvis Crafton.

Mr. Crafton is survived by his children, Debbie Adams and her husband Mike, Rickey Crafton, Tom Redding and his wife Terrie, and Gene Redding and his wife Patricia all of Smyrna, TN; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

Mr. Crafton was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a retired machine operator with the Colonial Baking Company. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Rev. Tommy Redding will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

Vistiation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
