Obituary

Jon Crunk of Valley Mills, devoted father, grandfather, husband & friend left this earth Tuesday August 16th at age 73 to join the Lord in Heaven. Services will be 11:00am Sunday, August 21st at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN. John Risse will officiate. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Jon was born in Wink, Winkler Co., TX to Floyd and Violet Dudley Crunk on November 16, 1937. He graduated from Midland, TX High School in 1956. He married Barbara Byars in Bronte TX in 1959 and moved to Midland that same year. They moved from Midland to Valley Mills in 1966 to raise their family. Jon worked and retired from Owens Illinois Glass Container in Waco TX with 30 yrs of service. He was a journeyman electrician in the maintenance department. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, fishing and camping. It was well known by all who loved him he was an early riser who could cook a breakfast that could rival IHOP. After retiring in 2001, Jon and Barbara move to Murfreesboro TN to be close to their daughters. He enjoyed 10 years of family, friends, awesome country music and all the fishing his heart desired. The last few years of his life, he loved spending time and helping out at his son-n-law Tommy Hennig's place of business, Tom's Pawn. He will be remembered most for his love and loyalty to his family. He will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Violet Crunk, one brother, James Floyd Crunk. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Crunk of Murfreesboro TN, brother Keith Crunk of Valley Mills TX, sons, Kurt Crunk and wife Elizabeth of Hewitt, TX, Jody Walker of Houston, TX., Bruce Crunk and wife Donna Jean of Crawford, TX, daughters, Dona Ann and husband Tommy Hennig of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jona Kay and husband Terry Ryan of Lexington, KY, grandsons, Justin Gerik, Nolan Crunk, Deejay Crunk, Jonathan Ryan and Cougar Joe Walker, granddaughters, Brooke Ryan, Candace Ryan, Brittney Ryan, Erica Walker, Bazae Walker, Jessica Crunk and Katelyn Crunk, great grandchildren, Landen Gerik and Braden Crunk and many nieces and nephews.
