John Robert Johnny Hilliard, age 71, of Murfreesboro died Friday, July 01, 2011. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Jesse Leroy and Louise Smith Hilliard. He was also preceded in death by brother, Leroy Hilliard, son-in-law, Brent Benefield, and grandson, J.C. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Monday with Louis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jacobs Hilliard, sons, Terry (Mary Jo) Hilliard of Glasgow, KY, Curt (Amy) Hilliard of Murfreesboro, daughter, Cheryl Benefield of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Tyler, Kendell, Brittany, Dayla, Makenzie, Blake, and Abbie. Mr. Hilliard was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and retired from the Ford Glass Company. He enjoyed dealing with natural and artificial gems and gemstones.
