JOHNNIE RUTH EVANS SLAVEN age 66 of Lavergne, TN, died Thursday March 24, 2011. A native of Overton County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Quitman and Josie Newberry Evans. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Sammy B. Evans. Mrs. Slaven is survived by her husband Earl Slaven; daughter, Angela Slaven Dorris and her husband Keith of Lavergne, TN; granddaughter, Josie Elizabeth Dorris of Lavergne, TN; sister, Geneva Evans Jordan of Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday March 28, 2011 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Milton Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Slaven was a member of Living Springs Baptist Church and a retired Insurance Claim Representative.
