John L. Williams, age 79 of LaVergne, TN, passed away Friday November 28, 2014. A native of Smith County, TN, he was the son of the late Gene and Omie West Williams. Mr. Williams was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Hedgecoth Williams, brothers, Roy and Ronnie Wayne Williams, and a sister, Wilmadene Sadler. Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Jon Hawkins of Murfreesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Emma and Nicholas Hawkins of Murfreesboro, TN; step-grandson, Michael Brewer of McMinnville, TN; brother, Ralph Williams of Wilson County, TN. Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with Pastor Bill Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
