John Wilks, age 72 of Murfreesboro died Saturday, September 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louera Wilson Wilks, and his mother-in-law, Nora Dean Williams. Mr. Wilks volunteered in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam, receiving the Purple Heart award. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He and his wife moved back to their college town in 1993, where he served as supervisor of Murfreesboro City 911. Mr. Wilks loved animals, especially his pets.

Mr. Wilks is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pat Williams Wilks; sister, Patricia Hogg of Nashville; and father-in-law, Walter Howard Williams of Murfreesboro.
