John Calvin Underwood, age 86, of Murfreesboro, TN. died Thursday, February, 3, 2011. A native of Eagleville, TN. he was the son of the late Thomas Williamson and Nancy Elizabeth Morris Underwood. Mr. Underwood is also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hughes Underwood; son, Dr. David Alan Underwood; a brother, James Underwood and a sister Maggie Gleaves. Funeral Service will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Nathan Hale will officiate. Burial will follow in Carlton Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Underwood is survived by his two daughters and son in law, Karen (Robert) Fulkerson of Greensboro, N.C. and Johnna Paraiso of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Underwood of Tracy, CA.; two sisters and a brother in law, Mary (Harold) Rehorst of Milwaukee, Wis. and Audrey Sanders of Nolensville, TN., along with many nieces and nephews. Mr. Underwood was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver with Chrysler Automotive. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War Two in the South Pacific. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 893-5151
