JOHN FRANCIS McCARTHY age 54 of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday August 25, 2009. A native of Greenville, PA and Columbia, MS, he was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy Van Dusen McCarthy. John is survived by wife Mary Elizabeth Beth Raub McCarthy, daughter, Catherine (Nick) Patterson, son, Donald (Sara) McCarthy all of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Emily and Samuel John McCarthy, sisters, Virginia Collins of Ocala, Florida, Dorothy (Jon) Little of Valparasio, IN, brothers, Richard (Kim) McCarthy of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Jeremiah Jerry McCarthy of Atlanta, Georgia. John was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Mitzlaff. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with the Revs. Gene Wise and Polk VanZandt officiating. John was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, a US army veteran, and a Bio-Medical Tech with Walters Health Care Resources in Dallas, Texas. John received his BS degree in Aviation Maintenance Management from MTSU. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caris Health Care in memory of John.
