John Joseph McBride Jr, age 33, formerly of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Philadelphia but had lived most of his life in Murfreesboro. A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Delly Mutajuka and Father Domenic Rossi will officiate. Burial will in Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. McBride is survived by his mother, Gina Spera Harrison and her husband Steve Harrison of Murfreesboro; father, John J. McBride Sr. and his wife Linda of Wildwood, NJ; two sisters, Cate McBride of Murfreesboro, Tara McBride of Wildwood, NJ; grandfather, John Spera of Readyville, TN; grandmother, Angela McBride of Wildwood, NJ; nephew, David McBride of Murfreesboro; many aunts, uncles and cousins; the love of his life, Sandra Marie Matt of Philadelphia, PA; as well as his brothers in the Philadelphia Chapter of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brandie Harrison; grandmother, Eve Spera; Uncle, John Spera; and grandfather, Mike McBride. Mr. McBride was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sargent from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard following 14 years of dedicated service. He had served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. Memorials may be made to the Philadelphia Chapter of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club in memory of Mr. McBride.
