John Edward Long, age 55, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Long; grandparents; and uncle, Joseph Long.

He is survived by his daughters, Kayley Long and Carlan Long; mother, Susan Long; brother, Brett Long and wife Elizabeth; niece, Autumn Long; nephew, Samuel Long; uncle, Bill Long and wife Brenda; and numerous friends.

John earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. He was an avid UT football fan and animal lover. John spent many years as manager at three Walmart stores, leading and inspiring over 2,000 employees in his career.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PAWS of Rutherford County.
