Mr. John "Ook" McCurrie, Jr., age 48, of Smyrna, TN passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was born in Humboldt, TN to John Wesley and Betty McCurrie. Mr. McCurrie worked for Atco as a part checker with Nissan. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. McCurrie is survived by his wife of 9 years, Jenifer McCurrie; daughter, Tiffany Broyles of Humboldt, TN; son, John Wesley McCurrie, III of San Diego, CA; parents, Betty and John Wesley McCurrie, Sr. of Humboldt, TN; sister, Vernice McCurrie-Glenn and her wife Lakethia Glenn of Memphis, TN; brother, Scottie McCurrie and his fiancée Shanta Jackson of Smyrna; and niece, Mhyla Kahlene McCurrie.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, January 19, 2016 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. James Baptist Church, 701 Main St, Humboldt, TN 38343. Burial will take place at a later date at Nashville National Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
