JOHN B. HAGER, JR. age 81 of Smyrna, TN died Sunday November 29, 2009. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late John B. and Mary Funk Hager, Sr. Mr. Hager is survived by his wife of 54 years, Matilda Tillie Lee Hager; daughter and son-law, Regina and Bobby Medlen of Smyrna, and granddaughters, Laurel and Andrea Medlen and loving niece, Norma Hawk of Smyrna, TN. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Smyrna First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Michael Jones, Rev. Joe Elliott and Pastor Marshall Gupton officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery. Mr. Hager was retired from the Town of Smyrna. He was a member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church and a US Air Force veteran. Mr. Hager was a charter member of the Rescue Squad where he was awarded a lifetime membership. He was a member of the Smyrna Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years, Smyrna Lions Club and was employed at Economy In Printing for 32 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mr. Hager may be made to the Smyrna First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Town of Smyrna employees. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna and from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Wednesday at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
