John A. Cox, age 66, of Smyrna, TN, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. A native of Nashville, TN, he was preceded in death by his partner, James Franklin.

He is survived by his mother, Delores Sillman Lewellen of Murfreesboro; brother, James M. Cox of Douglasville, GA; sister, Ann West of Murfreesboro; nephews, Chuck James and his wife Amy of Christiana, Chris Cox of Hiram, GA, Jeff Cox and Roger Cox both of Murfreesboro; niece, Jennifer Croom and her husband Rodney of Murfreesboro; along with 10 great nephews and nieces and one great-great nephew.

John was a dispatcher for 25 years with AAA Cooper Transport. He was known as a dog lover and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
