John Walter Carter, age 49, of Smyrna, TN., died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Vanderbilt Hospital. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Rev. Terry Campbell and Rev. David Ash officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery. He is survived by his wife; Melanie Carter, father; John R. Carter of Smyrna, mother; Dorothy Morrison Carter of Nolensville, step mother Shirley Carter, son; Derrick Carter of Smyrna, daughter; Ashley Carter Donaldson, sister; Laurie Jean Spence of Nolensville, and granddaughter; Carmen Carter of Donaldson. Mr. Carter was a member of the Baptist Church and attended Smyrna High School. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M.
