JOHN WILLIAM BILL HEWGLEY age 72 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Sunday May 8, 2011. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Bennie Hugh and Mildred Irene Todd Hewgley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hewgley and sister, Joyce Johnson. Mr. Hewgley is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Harbuck Hewgley; son, John Hewgley, Jr. of Omaha, NE; daughters and sons in law; Cyndi and John Allen of Valparaiso, IN and Virginia and Jason Piekarski of Fayetteville, NC; brother, Howard Hewgley of Marietta, GA; sisters, Jennye Graham of Smyrna, TN, Janie Miller of LaVergne, TN, and Faye Culver of Antioch, TN; grandsons, Jonathan Hewgley, Ethan Piekarski, Peter and Stephen Allen. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Hewgley was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran after 20 years of service, and he was also retired from US Airways. He was a 1957 graduate of Smyrna High School where he was class valedictorian. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at WOODFIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL. 893-5151.
