John Handley Beck, age 66 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, April 9, 2016. He was born in Murfreesboro and was the son of the late William Edward and Elizabeth Elise Slater Beck. He attended World Outreach Church and was a 1967 graduate of Central High School. He later graduated MTSU with a B.A. in Journalism.

Survivors include a sister, Barbara Beck Tytula and her husband, Thomas of Madison, AL; a special friend, Kenne McWhorter of Murfreesboro; and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of memorial services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Palmer, John T. Hollaway, Joe Patty, Terry Barber, Bart Fite, Jimmy Branson, Randy Odom, Mike Hudson, and Myers Parsons, Jr.
