JOHN THOMAS ARD, SR., age 73, of Smyrna died Friday, December 19, 2008. He was a native of Augusta, GA and the son of the late William Walter Buddy and Beatrice Merritt Ard. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Bro. Bill Thomason will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife: Elaine Ard, daughters: Melissa Bowers of Smyrna, Angela Ard of Murfreesboro, son: Johnny Ard of Smyrna, sisters: JoAnn Motes of Cross Hill, SC, Barbara Seeger of Mt Holly, NC, grandchildren: Kristin Bowers, Michael Bowers, Kaitlyn Salisbury, Adele Marie Ard. Mr. Ard was a member of the Lavergne First Baptist Church and a retired Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with Bridgestone.
