Joe Carlin Parsley, age 81, of Milton died Monday, March 18, 2013. He was a native of Coffee County and the son of the late Roy V. and Lela Ettie Young Parsley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Louis G. Parsley. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Mike Waldrop will officiate. Burial to follow in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. Mr. Parsley is survived by wife of 62 years, Betty Ross Johnson Parsley, sons, Mike Parsley of Murfreesboro, Mark Parsley and wife Dr. Lisa Lowe of Murfreesboro, brother, Henry Parsley and wife Mary of Murfreesboro, sisters, Elizabeth Hatchett of Shelbyville, Shirley O'Brien of Christiana, Janie Tew and husband Clarence of Fayetteville, NC, grandchildren, Phillip and Claire Parsley both of Murfreesboro, sister-in-law, Rebecca Parsley of Murfreesboro, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Parsley was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired cabinet maker. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation in memory of Mr. Parsley.
