Joe D. Halliburton, age 78, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, April 21, 2012. He was a native of Red Boiling Springs and the son of the late Joseph David and Florence Dillihay Halliburton, Sr. Funeral service will be 3:00pm Tuesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Bro. Frank Lipetri will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Halliburton, daughter, Brenda Halliburton Smallwood of Murfreesboro, brother, Kenneth Halliburton of Shelbyville, grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Weaver, Rachel (Matt) Brabender, David (Kelly) Smallwood, Michael (Teri) Smallwood, great grandchildren, Brittney McCrary, Brandon Goodloe, Michael Austin Weaver, Colton Brabender, Jeffery Weaver, Claire Smallwood, and Tyler Smallwood. Mr. Halliburton was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church, United States Army veteran, retired wielder for Quality Industries, and a player, coach, umpire, advocate, and caretaker of the field for the sport he so dearly loved, Softball. Pallbearers will be former softball players and friends, Bobby Francis, Bill Fann, Doris Wallace, Arthur Ray Taylor, John Jarrett, and Floyd Burks. Family wishes to thank Dr. Peter DiCorleto and Dr. David Chatman and their staffs for the care they provided to Mr. Halliburton and his family.
