Joe Douglas Green, Jr., age 79 of Murfreesboro died Tuesday June 25, 2019. He was a native of Dayton, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Douglas Green, Sr. and Rose Gideon Green. Mr. Green was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, he taught Sunday School and was active with the SAGES. Mr. Green was faithful volunteer and member of Disaster Relief Team. He was retired from TVA, his career with TVA included many assignments throughout the southeast.

He is survived by his wife 59 years, Susan Green; sons, Joe Douglas Green III and wife Debbie of Liberty, James Gregory Green, and Maggie Vicario of Kentucky, Michael Jarrod Green of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Molly Elizabeth Horton and husband Dan of Alaska, Jamie Hale Green of Kentucky; brother, Kenneth Green and wife Dorinda of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Patricia Mitchell of Murfreesboro; nieces Laura and Melissa and a host of other family friends.

In lieu flowers memorials may be made to Red Bird Mission.

Visitation will be after 1:00PM Sunday at St. Marks United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be 3:00PM Sunday at St. Marks United Methodist Church. Rev. Tommy Ward, Dr. Jim Clardy, Rev. Martha Touchton, Rev. Mary Dicken will be officiating. www.woodifnchapel.com
