JOE MAXWELL CARTER age 90 of Lavergne, TN died Saturday August 29, 2009. A native of Davidson County, he was the son of the late Harve and Cora Brown Carter. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Bill Thomason officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Carter is survived by wife, Rose Arnold Carter, sons, Donnie (Cindy) Carter of Smyrna, TN and Wayne Carter of Cleveland, TN and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charlton and Douglas Carter and by a sister, Louise Staley. Mr. Carter was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lavergne and a retired carpenter.
