Joann West Stevens age 84 of Murfreesboro formerly of Nashville died Wednesday December 4, 2013. She was a native of Nashville and was the daughter of the late, Wilson and Johnnie Baker West. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Dalewood Baptist Church and a graduate of Peabody College with a major as a Concert Pianist. She was retired after 30 years of service from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools as a music teacher. Mrs. Stevens was an organist and pianist for many churches in the Nashville area. She is survived by her son, Matt Stevens of Millersville; daughters, Becky Mills and husband Chuck of Lascassas, Jennifer Warner of Murfreesboro, Melanie Hesson and husband Jerry of Murfreesboro. She was lovingly known as Nana to Kelsey, Katherine, Samuel & Christopher. A celebration of Mrs. Stevens's life will be held at a later date.
