Joan Marie Gannon (Eichman), age 67, died at her home with her family in Christiana, Tennessee on August 8, 2014. She was born on July 5, 1947 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Joan grew up and attended college in Michigan, where she became an English teacher. She was introduced by relatives to her loving husband of 45 years, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) John Gannon. Joan loved spending time with her family, watching racing (even Nascar, and she wasn't ashamed to admit it), buying purses, correcting people's grammar and laughing. She had an amazing sense of humor and always had a quick comeback. Joan is survived by her husband, John Gannon, her sister, Karen Bell (Eichman), her two children, Gary Gannon and Sarah Clausen (Gannon), daughter-in-law Ayako Gannon (Kimura), son-in-law Daniel Clausen, and three grandchildren, Allie Gannon, Mikey Gannon and Charlie Clausen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil Eichman and Mary Eichman (Spears). In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that you please just keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
