Obituary

James Edward "Jim" Bequette, age 68 of Murfreesboro died Thursday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a native of Granite City, Illinois and raised in Troy, IL, a son of the late Michael and Cleda Bequette. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his brothers Mick, Leroy, and Bill Bequette. Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Pickel and her husband Tim of Smyrna, Melissa Neal and her husband Keith of Murfreesboro; a granddaughter Katelyn Pickel and a brother Richard Bequette of Illinois. Mr. Bequette was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a retired truck driver and had been a resident of the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro for the last three years. Visitation with the family will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Bequette's cremated remains will be buried with military honors at Nashville National Cemetery at a later date. An online guestbook is available for Mr. Bequette at www.woodfinchapel.net
