Obituary

On Monday, July 11, 2011, our beloved Jessie Mae Glover Steiner, loving wife of Robert James Steiner, went to be an angel for God, to watch over those she loved and cherished. Jessie was a resident of Parksley, VA, and passed away at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. Born on August 23, 1942 in Jackson, TN, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Glover and Nellie Earlean Graham Jones. Jessie was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She held several jobs, but was most recently a homemaker, to which she devoted much of her time. She greatly enjoyed playing Bingo, and would go to great lengths to find a game. As she and her husband moved around due to military obligations, if she ever knew of a soldier who would be alone for any holiday, she would open her door to them to be with her family for a wonderful meal and time of celebration. That was just her way! Jessie had a very large family, which meant everything to her. Other than her husband, her family includes four children, James Robert Steiner and wife Lori of Murfreesboro, TN, Lisa Steiner-Pitts and husband Elwood of Richmond, VA, Tammy Steiner of Vista, CA, and Katherine Steiner Fisher and husband John of Lottsburg, VA; thirteen grandchildren, R.J., Misty, Samantha, Tony, Elwood, Jr., Edison, Ethan, Eli, Jessica, Crystal, T.J., Allie and Faith; nine great-grandchildren, Hayleigh, Austin, Rebecca, Camdon, Cassidy, Isabelle, Nathan, Cali and Robert; four sisters, Sue, Becky, Yvonne and Sissy; and many nieces and nephews and their families. Other than her parents, she was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Dawn Ashlyn; a sister, Novie; and a brother, Bubba. Jessie had an extremely strong faith in God, and greatly loved all of her family. Funeral services will be conducted from the Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN, on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 12:00 PM with Brother Ron Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman Cemetery in Rutherford County. There will be a visitation at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com, or www.woodfinchapel.com. Arrangements by the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Parksley, VA, and Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN 615-893-5151.
