Jesse Carroll, age 81 of Murfreesboro, died Thursday at home surrounded by family. He was a native of Shirley, Arkansas and a son of the late Hershel Carroll and Bramlett Simpkins Carroll. He was also preceded in death by his wife Norma Carroll in 2014, brothers, Hurshel "Dale" Carroll, James "Doc" Carroll and a sister, Ima "Polly" Hendrickson.

Mr. Carroll is survived by four children, Carlotta Pitts and her husband Dennis of Smyrna, Sandra Vaughn, and Paul Carroll and his wife Janette, all of Murfreesboro, and Todd Carroll and his wife Jennifer of Smyrna; nine grandchildren, Evan, Marissa, William, Kaylea, Shelbie, Kyle, Tyler, Chelsea and Bryson; eight great-grandchildren, Emma, James, Addie, Marley, Jason, Libby, Bastiaan and Madison; a brother, Robert Carroll of Rosebud, AR; and a sister, Dixie "Judy" Tork of Caro, MI; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mr. Carroll attended Scenic Drive Baptist Church and was retired from the metal fabrication division of General Motors.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Bro. Larry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
