Obituary

Jesse William Bill Wooldridge age 67 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday March 17, 2012. He was born October 6, 1944 in Lorain, OH, to Jess Edward Wooldridge and Zelma Griffith Wooldridge Toth. Mr. Wooldridge is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Powell Wooldridge; son, David William Wooldridge of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Lisa Carr of Murfreesboro, TN and Tracy Knight and her husband Michael of Franklin, TN; mother, Zelma Toth and step-father, Albert Toth both of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Christopher William Carr, James Edward Slayton, Kayla Marie and Seth William Wooldridge, Taylor Brian and Luke William Ayers, and Hailey Knight; sister, Diane Myers of Orlando, FL. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel with Brother Shane Merritt and Brother Robert Vick officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Wooldridge attended and was very active in the band and football at Clearview High School, class of 1963. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1966, and received a Masters of Combined Sciences in 1970 from the University of Mississippi. He was awarded an Education Specialist degree from the University of Florida in 1980. Mr. Wooldridge began his teaching career in Polk County in January of 1967 where he taught Science classes there until 1981. He then moved to Murfreesboro where he became the principal of the High School at Middle Tennessee Christian School, where he stayed in that position until 1985. Mr. Wooldridge then returned to the classroom at David Lipscomb Campus School, where he remained until 1996. Mr. Wooldridge was a member of the Rockvale Church of Christ where he served as an Elder, and also taught the adults and teens. A true Christian gentleman, he loved to read and study the Bible, especially Old Testament history. He loved to travel and spent a lot of his summers touring the United States and Canada. Mr. Wooldridge loved a good storm, tall trees, outdoors, and camping. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at WOODFIN FUNERAL CHAPEL. 893-5151.
