Jerry R.
Warrick
July 7, 1942 – May 30, 2021
Jerry R. Warrick, age 78, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away at home surrounded by members of his family on Sunday, May 30, 2021. A native of Smyrna, TN, he was the son of the late Jessie R. and Opal Long Warrick. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Tommy Warrick, Bobby Warrick, Brenda Ghee, and Frances Carol Warrick.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro, TN, with Brother Brent Fuller officiating. A graveside service will follow in Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna at 12:30 p.m.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Elaine J. Warrick; children, Jerelynn Saunders and her husband Sean, John R. Warrick and his wife Kim, Steven Edward Warrick and his wife Kimberly Ann, and Tracy L Deweese; siblings, Martha Sue Perry, Betty Lou Todd, and Dennis Warrick and his wife Jody; grandchildren, Jaimeson, Jessica, Kristina, Justin, Kayla, Casondra, and Emily; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jerry was an active member of Wilson Line Baptist Church where he celebrated his love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He took great pride in celebrating our Lord and spreading His Word through song – a passion that came to him at any early age as he loved to praise The Lord through song by singing alongside his beloved mother and his brothers and sisters. Family and friends share fond memories of Sunday Revivals where he would sing with his brother Tommy and the other members of the Gospel Five.
He was also a carpenter. After learning his trade from his father and brothers, he started his own company at a young age – against odds some said at the time. Determined to succeed, he forged ahead knowing the Good Lord would guide his hands and his mind. Jerry liked to say, "I build homes." And homes he built, amassing the admiration and respect of fellow contractors and builders throughout the area. Jerry became the "go-to guy" for those who wanted a home .
Jerry was a proud Master Mason and member of the Nashville Scottish Rite, York Rite Bodies, and the Al Menah Shriners Temple. He had a passion for helping children with disabilities and took immense pride in helping set up and run fundraisers in support of children.
Above all else, but second to His Lord, was his family. Jerry was a devoted husband, a patient and loving father, an endearing grandfather as well as a trusted and relied-upon brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew to his entire extended family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and forever remembered by those who loved him.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
