Jerry Kenneth Toombs age 71 of Smyrna, TN, died Tuesday April 17, 2012 in Dunedin, FL. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late J.P. and Mary Elizabeth Alsup Toombs. Mr. Toombs is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Lee Freeman Toombs; daughter, Vicki Toombs Terrell and her husband Robert of Goldsboro, NC; son, James Tracy Toombs of Murfreesboro, TN; brother; Herman Toombs and his wife Judy of the Gladeville community, and two grandchildren, Brittany and Austin Terrell both of Goldsboro, NC. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna with Bro. Ron Caldwell and Bro. Eddy Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Toombs was a member of Old Jefferson Church of Christ and was a Campground Manager.
