Jerry Shadowens, age 74 of LaVergne, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 14, 2017 at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Rev. Carl Scarlett officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and 12 noon until service time on Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna

Jerry was a member of Miracle Baptist Church.  He graduated from Joelton High School and he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.  Many may know Jerry from all of the years he spent around sports.  He helped coach in the Smyrna Youth Football League years after his children were grown.  Jerry also played softball and was often seen on the weekend at a ballpark.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Keith Shadowens and his wife Linda, Philip Shadowens and his wife Laura, and Michael Shadowens;  grandchildren, Courtney (Dale Gleaves), Trisha (Brandon Neff); Joshua, Ashley (George Barrett), Katie, and Sydney; great grandchildren, Alexis, Emma, Zachary, Knox, Owen, Isabella, Jackson, Brendan, and Patton; sisters, Margaret Wallace and husband Dean, Marie Farrell, and Linda Farrell.  He was preceded in death by wife, Drema; his parents, Henry and Carrie Shadowens, and  brother in law, Joe Ferrell.
