Jerry Rudd, age 80 of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Petersburg, Tennessee, a son of the late Bert L. and Novella Wells Rudd. He was also preceded by his brothers, Wilford, Marshall, and Bill Rudd.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Richardson Rudd; children, Rex Rudd and wife Vickie, Cynthia Leyhew and husband Johnny, and Mark Rudd and wife LaFonda, all of Lascassas; grandchildren, Jeremey and Hannah Rudd, John Leyhew and wife Tiffiney, Nick Leyhew and wife Nicole, Maegan Snyder and husband Gregg, and Tyler Rudd; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Piper, Jasper, and Thatcher Leyhew, Charlotte Amelia Snyder; a sister in law, Della Rudd of Lewisburg; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mr. Rudd was a member of Lascassas Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. He was the owner and operator of Jerry's markets in Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be Thursday night from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Lascassas Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Lascassas Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Summey officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Members of the of the Mixed Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers,
