JERRY KENNETH PHILLIPS, SR., age 80, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on July 26, 2012. He was born in Murfreesboro, TN and was preceded in death by his father and mother John Kornman and Betty Pauline (Lester) Phillips. He is also preceded in death by his wife Diane Cantrell Phillips, Sister Lucille Phillips Johns, his brothers Dayton Phillips, and Ed Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a devoted husband and father who is survived by two sons: Jerry K. Phillips of Cincinnati, OH and Reverend John Steven Phillips of Miami, FL; two daughters: Shelby Ann Phillips Darnell of Tucker, GA and Cathy Lynn Phillips Tudor of Dayton, OH; six grandchildren: Tyler Phillips, Krystle Darnell Sharp, Klarissa Darnell, Kevin Darnell, Austin Tudor, and Jacob Tudor and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Phillips was also a much beloved brother survived by two dear sisters: Ann Phillips Caffey of Murfreesboro, TN and Elanor Phillips Winn Seat of Lascassas, TN. Mr. Phillips graduated from Central High School, served two years in the Marines, and graduated from Middle Tennessee State College. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Reverend John Steven Phillips and Reverend Chip Tudor will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
