Jerry Long Miles, age 76 of Monroe Louisiana died Saturday September 27, 2014 in Monroe. Mr. Miles was a native of Murfreesboro and was the son of the late, James Caswell Miles and Helen Long Miles Bell. He was also preceded in death by his wife Elaine Rooker Miles who died in May of 2014, and a brother James Caswell Miles, Jr. Graveside services will be 11:30 Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery. Rev. Michael Waldrop will officiate. Visitation after 10:00AM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Miles is survived by two sons, Jerry Long Miles, Jr. of New Orleans, LA and Mark Edward Miles of Baton Rouge, LA; brother Tommy Miles and wife, Peggy ; sister, Nancy Jane Lane and husband, W.K. all of Murfreesboro; sister-in-law, Donna Miles of Franklin. Mr. Miles was a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and Charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was retired from State Farm Insurance Company as service director for the State of Mississippi. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
