Obituary

Jerry Wayne Covington, age 73 of LaVergne, TN, died Tuesday December 25, 2012. A native of Sumner County, he was the son of the late William Raymer and Christine Lamberth Covington. Mr. Covington is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Janet Swayze Covington; sons and daughters- in- law, Larry Wayne and Vicki Covington and William Denson Covington all of LaVergne, TN, and Jay Dee and Misty Covington of Smyrna, TN; daughter and son- in- law, Roxann Rena and Denny Davis of Lascassas, TN; sister and brother- in- law, Shelia and Clyde Robinson of Nebo, NC; grandchildren, Eric Wayne, Justin Hugh, William Blake, William Denson, Jr., Jarod Heath, Chelsea Dawn, Nicole, Shelby, and Taylor Covington, Jessica Liane Cassidy and Elayna Blaze Sandhop; great granddaughter, Sophia London Cassidy. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Brother Jack Wood officiating. Visitation will also be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mr. Covington was a member of Living Springs Baptist Church, a US Air Force veteran, and a retired truck driver with Yellow Freight. He a member of the Sam Davis Masonic Lodge # 661 and a member of the Scottish Rite and was a 33rd Degree Mason. WOODFIN CHAPEL, SMYRNA. 459-3254.
