Jerry Cates

Mr. Jerry Cates, age 83, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born in Harnett County, NC to the late Frank Fuller Cates and Nila Byrd Cates. A lifelong Baptist, Jerry served his country in the United States Army and loved his home state of North Carolina.

Jerry is survived by his daughters Lori Thomas and her husband Morton and Janie Oliver and her husband Bill, and grandchildren, Brayden Galloway Thomas and Kristen Taylor Thomas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 at 1:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery.
