Jeremy Russell Powers, age 32, of Smyrna, died Friday, July 13, 2012, from complications of surgery. Mr. Powers attended LaVergne High School, and was a member of New Vision Baptist Church. Mr. Powers is survived by his daughter Kiya Alysse Powers; mother Linda Elaine King and her husband Phillip; father Ricky Neal Powers, Sr. all of Smyrna; brother Ricky Neal Powers, Jr. of Woodbury; grandmother Ruth Elise Ethridge Henson of Smyrna; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard Powers and Harriet Straub, and grandfather Hillary Thurman Karnes. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro. Burial will follow at Mapleview Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 until 8:00 PM Monday, and 10:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro.
