JEFFERY LYNN SHAFFER, age 57 of Murfreesboro died Sunday June, 14, 2009. A native of Elkhart, Indiana, he is the son of Robert E. and Audrey (Rose Metcalf) Shaffer. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart, Indiana, with Pastor Barry Mershon officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Elkhart, Indiana, where the Elkhart County Sheriffs Dept. color guard will render honors. After the committal service military honors will be rendered by the Elkhart DAV, Chapter #9. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Diane Shaffer, sons Tighe Andrew Shaffer of Chicago, IL and Corey Lynn Shaffer of Jonesboro, Arkansas, step-son Matthew Howard Koenigsberg of Murfreesboro, TN, step-daughter Melissa Nichole Koenigsberg of Murfreesboro, TN, Parents Robert and Audrey Shaffer of Elkhart, IN, Brother Michael Lynn Shaffer of Elkhart, IN, and sister Deborah Irene Trovatore of Elkhart , IN. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Kay Medina and Cynthia Ellen Mott. Mr. Shaffer was formerly employed by the Elkhart County Sheriffs Dept. from 1976 till 1991, retiring as a detective. He was currently employed as a Claims Adjustor for State Farm Insurance in Murfreesboro. Mr. Shaffer was a member of the Believers Chapel in Murfreesboro. He was Co-Founder of the Rinky Dink Cruisers Street Rod Club along with Frank Ward and Ron Cooper. Jeff was a master gardener and former member of the Concord Volunteer Fire Dept. Mr. Shaffer was a U.S. Army veteran serving as an M.P. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart, Indiana.
