Jeffery E. Rivers, 61 was born May 11, 1955. Jeff went to be with the Lord, on January 21, 2017.  He was surrounded by family and loved ones at his sister's home on their family farm.  Jeff was a lifetime resident of Rutherford County.  He was a graduate of Riverdale High School Class of 1973.  Preceded in death by father, Elijah Edward "E.E." Rivers and baby brother, Stephen Arthur Rivers.

Survived by: beloved mother, Dora Elizabeth Rivers; precious daughter, Candice Rivers Sellars and husband Matt; incredible son, Jeffery Edward Rivers II; adored grandchildren, Madalynn Sellars and Wyatt Sellars; sisters, Claudette Rivers Khym and husband Bob; Sharon Rivers Baird and husband Mike and a host of nieces and nephews who loved and adored their Uncle Jeff.

The family wants to first thank Caris Hospice for caring for Jeff in the last days of his life.  We also want to thank the nurses, techs, case managers and doctors at St. Thomas Rutherford for the care they extended to Jeff.  Most importantly, the family wants to thank the nurses, techs, doctors, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff at NHC-Murfreesboro for the loving care they gave Jeff and for being so kind to his family.  We will forever be grateful.  Memorials may be made in memory of Jeff to Caris Hospice, 242 Heritage Park Drive. Visitation will be held at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, January  24, 2017 from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM followed by  Celebration of Life services officiated  by Debbie Church, at 11:00AM Tuesday
