Jean Hutchison, of Murfreesboro, TN, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at home after a short illness.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Sappenfield will officiate.

Jean is survived by her children, Ellen Simon of Tennessee; and her son, George Hutchison and his wife, Erin of Washington State; four grandchildren, Christopher, Casey, Daniel and Patrick; and four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Sofie, Sadie and Alice.

After graduating nursing school, Jean worked in the Emergency Room of a New York hospital after which she entered the United States Army during the Korean War as a First Lieutenant, serving in the Nurse Corps. Upon leaving the Army, Jean was a nurse for Visiting Nurse Service of New York for 35 years, the last 10 years as a Hospice Nurse. After retiring, Jean moved to Florida to rest and relax. She eventually moved to Tennessee to be near her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jean's name can be made to St. Rose of Lima Church in Murfreesboro, TN; Wounded Warriors; or to Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, TN.

Jean's wake will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
