Janie Rita Nelson, age 55, of Nashville, TN, died Tuesday, May 5th, 2015. A native of Smyrna, TN she was preceded in death by her father, Charles David Pitts; mother, Edith Ann Reed Curtis and step father, Larry D. Curtis. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Carl Scarlett will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Ms. Nelson is survived by her daughter, Brittany Nelson of Smyrna; brother, Ricky Pitts and his wife Donna of Smyrna; and "Sister" - Best Friend, Tracy Holloway of Nashville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials in memory of Ms. Nelson can be made to the National Stroke Association.
