GLORIA JANE JANIE SMOTHERMAN BOGLE, age 62, passed away February 4, 2010 after a brave fight with cancer. She was born July 16, 1947 and was preceded in death by parents, James Allen and Virginia Dean Duggin Smotherman. Mrs. Bogle is survived by her husband of 12 years Roger D. Bogle; step children, Rodney Bogle and Amanda (Todd) Bell; sister, Missy (Jay) Peterson; brother, Eddie (Brenda) Smotherman all of Murfreesboro; one grandchild and five nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her favorite companion, her dog Buttermilk. Janie was a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, having graduated from Murfreesboro Central High School in 1965. She loved shopping and traveling and enjoying her friends and family. Janie was a devoted wife, sister, and step mother. She retired from General Electric after 30 years of service. She was a member of Hillview Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with W.D. Thomason and Charles McKnight officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorials in memory of Janie may be made to the American Cancer Society.
