Janice Goss

Janice Goss, age 76 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee died Monday, October 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro and was a daughter of the late Raymond Alexander Young and Gracie Mae Porterfield Young. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Rick” Goss.

Survivors include her siblings, Shelby Dean Gossage, Betty Jean Lavender and husband Bill, and Wayne Young and wife Peggy; nephews, Greg and Shawnda Gossage and Gary and Mari Carmen Schneider, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.

Janice’s life was a testament to overcoming adversity as she suffered as a child from Polio. Her determination would not let anything stand in the way of her accomplishments. She was a member of the Christian faith and worked as an accounting clerk for many years prior to her retirement.

Visitation with the family will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
